What is it like to be a part of the senior hut? How do you feel about receiving the Medal? How did you receive the news?

To me being apart of the senior community is a great honour, I am so humbled to of received Seniority. Deviant has been my 'rock' for years and to be recognized by the community and honoured with this title has blown me away - I never thought something like this could happen to me! I am very appreciative and grateful to of been noticed :aww:  I logged on and saw a shiny seniority badge next to my name and my jaw literally dropped! I quickly went to investigate to make sense of this and started to see that fellow seniors were congratulating me! Let's just say I spent a little too much time grinning at my computer :D I am very proud to be a part of this wonderful community.

You have an incredible collection of photos in your gallery! What made you interested in Photography?

Photography has always fascinated me. The creative possibilities are endless, it is utterly unique, and it allows you to witness the world around you in a way your naked eye is not capable of. To capture (collect and share) beautiful moments, scenes, and people has always been what drives my photography interest.

What tools are you using to take such beautiful photos?

I use a Nikon D7000 and two lenses (18-55mm + 70-300mm). I also use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for post-processing. My equipment is not the most expensive top-of-the-range photography equipment. In my opinion, it's how you use (and understand) your equipment and your post-processing skills that is the key to producing wonderful photography - that has always been my focus.

I would love to use this space for some promoting. Do you have any artists you wish to promote? Go ahead! :)

The talent on this site is phenomenal - some recent inspirational work I've discovered. I could go on forever!

Thank you very much for the interview! Do you have anything you wish to share with us? Any Last words?

Thank you so much for taking the time for me! I am honoured and humbled and very appreciative to receive this title. I feel like I'm only just beginning my photography/art journey so this has inspired me very much :)

My last words would be - 莫忘初衷
A Chinese phrase which means to never forget your motivation, the motivation that inspired you to embark in the first place.
Stay passionate and stay inspired!

Thank you Cinyu :glomp:

What is it like to be a part of the senior hut? How do you feel about receiving the Medal? How did you receive the news?

I don't know how to describe the feeling! :noes: Everytime I think about my new status, I smile like an idiot. :lmao: I don't deny that I hoped for it, but I actually didn't expect to become a senior. It's been a huge and awesome surprise and I need some time to get used to my little medal. :D I hope it means that I've done something good around here, that would make me even more happy! :noes:

I was checking my dA message center on the phone when I saw the journal by fourteenthstar that pre-announced she would have been nominating new seniors during the day. I'm always curious because I like when I recognize somebody from the list. :D Later, I was replying to a feature I symbol was still the little full star for Premium Members. As soon as I pressed "Submit Comment", I saw that there was something different behind my nickname! :noes: And as soon as I got to the MC, I saw a comment from my fellow fractalist and oldcomer KPEKEP who was congratulating and -huge surprise-, he became senior too!!! :noes: My hands were trembling, I couldn't even write properly on my phone. :lmao: Too many great news all at once!

I see you are a part of the translator team from InternationalFAQ! How many FAQ questions have you translated for the group? It is a challenge for you sometimes to translate the FAQ?

I translated two sections into Italian: About deviantART and Browsing and Comments. One of my special features is that I'm overly lazy, and that's not a quality, is it? Shame on me. :ashamed: But anyway, it's indeed a huge project and takes a lot of time and effort. Not only you have to translate the FAQ, but you need to make them stylistically readable, avoiding repetitions and using a lot of synonyms. Otherwise one could simply paste the text into Google Translate to get the translation, but we all know the mess that comes out from that! :lmao: It's indeed challenging, but it's something I wanted to do because, as a non-native English speaker, I know what it means to have some help in my's always better! :la: I have to finish the next section, then I think I'll leave my spot to somebody who is more willing and has more time and energy to go on with it. :D

I found a list on your profile of several softwares that you use to make your fractals. May I ask why you use so many different ones?

Oh, no, that's not a list of the softwares I use. It would be really cool to be able to use all those generators, but the fact is that I'm not. :D I created that list in case people passed by my profile, got curious about fractals and want to try themselves, so I preferred to provide them with a variety of available programs (instead of the only one I use). :giggle: Those ones are the most used by people I know on deviantART, but there are many more. :D
I myself tried Apophysis and Mandelbulb3D, but my heart belongs unconditionally to Apophysis 7x.

What makes you so much more apt to Apophysis than the rest of the softwares?

There are many things that make me stick to Apophysis 7x instead of other programs. First of all, the editor, which consists of a black field where you can control the transforms that build your fractal up (they're represented by colored triangles). I feel like I have more control on the overall result, due to the presence of a little preview in the editor itself (it's more a psychological thing :lmao: ). Second, there are many many resources for Apophysis, so I think it's really easy to get into it and, eventually, become addicted! That's what happened to me and to other fellows. :D
Last but not the least, 3D Apophysis fractals. If you take a look at my gallery, you can notice that I strongly prefer 3D flames. I think the look you can give to them is unique and can't be done in any other software (maybe JWildfire, but I've never tried :dummy:). That's what made me say "let's try Apophysis!" and made me fall in love with it!
I don't exclude in future I'll try other softwares, but for now I'm happy with Apo.

Thank you very much for the interview! Do you have anything you wish to share with us? Any Last words?

Thank you for the interview! And thanks to those people who suggested me for seniority (I still have no clue who they are :lmao:), and fourteenthstar who actually made me senior. :D I had not the chance to thank them yet. :XD:
I think I'll spam some awesome groups where you can get many marvellous examples of fractal art. :dummy:
:iconfractaldreams: :iconallthingsfractal: :iconapophysis: :iconchaoticafractals: :iconthe-aposhack: :iconmandelbulb3d: :iconfractal-resources:
If you want to talk to other fractal people, you are welcome to join the #Aposhack chatroom. You can find me there pretty much everyday, or in another chatroom called #ShareZone.

In conclusion, if you want to do something, never discourage yourself and don't give up. Most of the time it can be tough (I've been myself through lack of inspiration, hiatuses and disapproval by other people), but in the end, the satisfaction will be huge.
That's all I can say that might be helpful. :D

Thank you very much C-91 for the interview!

Are you sure you went into the May folder and not just the ArtFest folder?  Also, are you submitting from your deviation page or going through the group gallery folders?
annewipf Featured By Owner May 12, 2014
I went to "Fella ArtFest" > "May 2014", but there is no link for submitting something

I just submitted and it seemed to go through on this end.  Do you have a message in your MC for the request?

Hello! :D I was wondering... Could I submit a piece of art that was created last week into the Fella's Artfest May?
MiloticScale Featured By Owner May 7, 2014  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Hello there!

Each month's ArtFest has a binding rule that states entries must be created specifically for the ArtFest contest of that month--meaning its submission date must display a date after the 5th of that month.

Hope that helps!
Jenny345 Featured By Owner May 3, 2014
There are rules. Tell these rule breakers that there are rules. There are several groups that do not belong here. They do not abide by the rules. Neither do some individual artists know that there are rules. Seriously the DA Mods need to police the site better.
