Do you really want critique?
We at #fella love to promote fabulous art and we know you do too, so here's your chance to share some truly inspirational work with thousands of deviants, bringing lots of exposure to talented artists.
It's not as simple as posting a bunch of thumbnails though - we want you to be as creative as the artists whose work you're shining a light on. For the chance to curate YOUR #fella exhibition this summer, send us the following information:
Your theme
We're not looking for simply photographs or pretty things. We want original concepts to match the original content that you'll be including in your exhibition. Think specific (eg jewellery inspired by the indigenous cultures of Africa) or educational (eg aviation through the ages), consider geography (eg lakes of America) or jobs (eg the world of professional make-up artistry), or even base your concept around the artists rather than the art itself (eg creations by art students or paintings by disabled artists). The possibilities are endless and the only limit is your imagination, so get imagining!A short introduction to your exhibition
While art often speaks for itself, as the curator of an exhibition, it's important to share your vision with the people who will be enjoying the art you're promoting. Your introduction doesn't have to be an essay (in fact, it's better if it isn't). A couple of sentences will do just fine. You might want to include what inspired your choice of theme (eg I travelled through India last year and the cultures I encountered were so full of beauty) or what purpose you envisage your exhibition fulfilling (eg I want to shine a light on photographers who use traditional processes in their work).Examples
Please include a sample of 5 (only 5, please!) thumbnails which illustrate the kind the work that you'd like to show in your exhibition. Make sure your sample is representative of the range of art you plan to exhibit. For example, if you plan to have photography, traditional art and literature in your exhibition, make sure you include examples of each of those.How to submit your exhibition proposal
Send a note to #fella containing the information above by 10th June 2012. The final exhibitions will be selected by a panel of #fella admins and will each be posted in their own journal here at #fella over the summer.Ok...go!
